Character Name:Catalino Vargas
Country:Italy (Southern regions)
Gender:Female
Age:19
Camp guide or teen?:Teen
Appearance:
Oval face with chubby cheeks, quaint little nose, pouty lips and round hazel eyes, Catalino has wavy auburn hair that falls to just below her shoulder blades. There's an irritable curl of hair that sticks up no matter what she does. Her skin is a smooth, olive colour. Fair in height, she stands at 5'7" and weighing in at 135 lbs. She usually dresses in brand-name clothing, and each outfit is varied.
Perhaps lacking in the bust area, this is a feat that any sane person should never point out to her (It's not like she doesn't already know). A relatively nice body, she has a slender no-visible-amounts-of-muscle type of build.
Personality:
If a timid, precious young lady was the ideal pciture, Catalino was the opposite of that image.
She is vulgar in her language, spiteful and blunt with her words. She speaks her mind, and likes to be straightforward and to the point. Pessimistic and overall a grouchy person, she doesn't hesitate to insult people at all. She likes to act tough, but is often all talk but no action. In truth, she is quite cowardly and often denies whatever emotion she feels.
She is easily flustered and frustrated, she's not good at housekeeping or any womanly chores. She is biased, and stands strong to her opinion. Catalino does not function well around strangers, she sometimes looks down on them, thus often giving people the cold shoulder.
Truthfully she is timid and shy person, she doesn't like to be in the spotlight and she doesn't like to be in front of many people. She loves food more than anything else, especially tomatoes. Catalino does treat certain people with respect, but only if she thinks they deserve it. She's terrible at communicating any positive emotions and usually resorts to punching or swearing to ease her confusion. She is fairly intelligent, but sucks horrendously at any physical activity.
It's hard to enjoy Catalino's presence, but if you catch her in the right mood, she can be quite a decent person. The capability to be motherly, kind, gentle and sentimental is there, but it only shows very rarely. In fact, people have a better chance of winning the lottery than seeing her act in that manner.

History:
Catalino's family life has been a decent one so far. Both her parents share a tight bond, they're relatives are decently kind and there hasn't been any seriously life-altering, traumatizing, depressing situations yet.
Her parents though, are protective and smothering. They constantly worry about her well being and often restrict her from doing certain things without proper supervision. She's tried running away once, when she was sixteen, but she later found out how absolutely terrifying the streets were at night and were back home before the police had a chance to send out a search party.
At the age of 19 with few friends and not a single boyfriend, her parents were starting to grow worried that they never live the day to see a grandchild. And so, they shipped Catalino off to some fancy camp in a place where they knew she would never dare to hop on a plane and fly home. It was a big stretch on their behalf, but they trusted that the staff at said camp would keep the dangers at bay.
So despite vigorous protests and uncensored torrents of swearing, Catalino was forced into this summer camp under the reason of 'Oh, we just want you to have international ties! For your future!'.
Journal Sample:
Day One:
Completely pointless, this bastard journal. Why do I have to write in this? It'll only make my arm cramp up from writing so much. There's nothing to write about. What was it that my darling parents told me to think about? Who, what, when, where, why?
Who am I. Well, smart ass, I would think that whoever reads this would know from the name clearly written on the front cover. Catalino. Catalino Vargas. Proud Italian and - damn it - I'm hungry.
What am I? What the hell? I am a human being! What am I doing? Writing in this damn journal! On this even stupider plane with the noisiest baby who refuses to shut up. At least I have a window seat, and at least the seat beside me is empty. But that doesn't make up for it!
When? It's the afternoon, but it's before siesta. I don't have a watch with me so I can't give you the exact time. But I'm not sleeping either so it's before siesta time. I had lunch a while ago, so it's after noon. Airplane food is shit.
Where am I going? To some dumbass camp in the middle of the United States of America. I don't even know where it is exactly. Assuming that the camp blows up, I don't think anybody will know where we were or what happened to us. Don't think they'll find any bodies either. Well, maybe, if the explosion threw chunks of us miles and miles away.
Why? Because my parents wanted me to have more friends, and have more international connections and blah blah blah. I think they're just hoping that I'd start dating with some dolt at camp. Whatever. I don't need some idiot manboy to run my life!
Pilot just announced that we're landing. Great.

Roleplay Sample:
Catalino shut the book closed and slipped the pen into the spine before pushing the foldable table up and locking it into place. She slid the journal neatly into the gaping mouth of her bag before kicking the old thing underneath the seat in front of her. Making doubly sure that her seat was up and that the seat belt around her waist we secure, she propped her elbow up on the arm rest and glared out the window.
If any idiot flight attendant bothered her...
The baby had finally calmed down, leaving the airplane completely silent, save for the constant droning of engines and the odd shuffle or creak. The pilot's voice suddenly came over the intercom, making her jump and than flush bright red in embarrassment. How could she of had jumped at something like that? Damn it, nobody had better seen that. The pilot informed them that they were landing (duh) and that seat belts had to be strapped. He also threw in a quick word about the weather in the area but Catalino couldn't of had cared less.
Instead, she closed her eyes and sighed. This summer was going to suck. She could feel it in her bones.
